SPED Teacher
Duties
Full-time Permanent Special Education teacher. Must be organized and good with learning new computer based programs. Special Education Teacher will be required to develop lesson plans and must be able to individualize curriculum for high school students with disabilities. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and grades. Monitor/chart instructional and behavioral progress for the students; establish/maintain educational programming for students; establish a varied environment which accommodates the differing ways that students learn; maintain records and reports regarding pupil progress in a timely manner. Excellent classroom management skills are vital. Work collaboratively with others, including paraprofessionals, to provide support to all students. Serve as a Case Manager for a proportional number of students by developing and managing IEPs.
Qualifications
Have appropriate Illinois teaching license or be eligible for license based on education and work experience in Special Education. Appropriate Illinois Professional Educator License: LBS1. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may prescribe. Evidence of successful teaching experience, preferably at the Secondary Level. Excellent communication skills, experience working with diverse populations. Experience in curriculum development and instructional processes. An understanding and a commitment to the philosophy that all students can be successful. Ability to build rapport with students, staff, parents and community members.

Duties
The duties required of a custodian include replenishing stock in bathrooms, cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security, and dusting. Keeping district facilities as clean and tidy as possible is the overall responsibility of a custodian. They should be prepared to do things like moving heavy furniture to reach corners, cracks and crevices of covered parts of the room.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED, basic computer skills and custodial experience preferred. Good communication skills and a valid driver’s license are required.

Duties
Discusses assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
Prepares lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations as needed.
Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.
Establishes as fully as possible a supportive and sympathetic relationship with the student(s) without fostering or encouraging intense emotional involvement.
Serves as a resource person, if and when requested, to the student personnel evaluation team conferring about one of the students to whom assigned.
Supervises students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
Conducts demonstrations to teach such skills as sports, dancing, and handicrafts.
Distributes teaching materials such as textbooks, workbooks, papers, and pencils to students.
Distributes tests and homework assignments, and collect them when they are completed.
Enforces administration policies and rules governing students.
Grades homework and tests, and computes and records results, using answer sheets or electronic marking devices.
Completes required reports in a timely manner.
Teaches socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
Works with students with multiple physical, mental, and developmental disabilities.
Is familiar with and uses adaptive equipment including, communication equipment, wheel chairs, adaptive feeding tools, etc.
Assists students with self-care, hygiene, and feeding as necessary.
May be required to perform tasks that students are not able to do, i.e. taking notes, handling materials, holding books, etc.
May work with/handle resistive students.
Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
Assists the classroom teacher in other tasks necessary in maintaining a professional and positive classroom environment, and performs other teacher aide duties as may be assigned by the classroom teacher, administration or Board of Education.
Qualifications
Must hold a valid IL paraprofessional license.
Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education; completed 60 semester hours of college credit at a regionally accredited institution of higher education; HS Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro; or HS Diploma or GED and passing scores on the ACT Workkeys.
Must be at least 19 years of age.
Must have excellent Oral and Written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators and the general public.
Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Requires employee to have the ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
Must be detailed oriented.

Sub Groundskeeper
Duties
Mows, weed eats, edges, aerates, and re-seeds district’s lawns. Trims shrubs, hedges, and trees. Hoes, weeds and rakes lawns. Operates and cleans power riding lawn mowers, power blowers, common trucks, and other motorized equipment requiring similar skill.
Assists with preparation of sports fields. Mows, grooms, paints, and lines athletic and public use play fields to comply with pre-set dimensions.
Cleans fields and facilities following events. Performs general grounds clean-up including picking up paper and trash on grounds areas. Performs building maintenance and cleaning duties of athletic facilities.
Plants and cultivates trees, grass, flowers, and shrubs. Sprays for control of insects, weeds, and plant diseases.
Checks services, and assists in installation of sprinkler irrigation systems. Sets and operates sprinkler clocks to water lawns and fields.
Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, play areas and athletic fields neat and clean at all times.
Helps keep grounds free of rubbish.
Helps to remove snow where appropriate.
Assists in the establishment of environmental safe programs and institute natural resource conservation measures where feasible.
Assumes responsibility for testing, operation, maintenance, and winter evacuation of all District in-ground irrigation systems.
Assists in providing an inventory of all grounds maintenance supplies and equipment.
Cleans, inspects, repairs, or replaces all grounds equipment in inventory for the next turf grass season and as needed.
Primary contact with outside contractual grounds service companies for the district.
Reports any major repairs needed to the Principal, or the Superintendent.
Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
Performs emergency repairs and/or cleaning services as needed.
Assists with moving furniture or equipment within building or between buildings as required for various activities as directed by the Principal.
Assists with performing other janitorial duties as necessary.
Keeps storage rooms neat and orderly. Dispose of all cardboard.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Principal and Superintendent.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
General knowledge of lawn and cleaning supplies and equipment.
Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with those contacted in the course of work (students, parents, & staff).
Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions.
Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
Ability to stand, sit, reach, bend and twist body.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to carry up to 35 lbs.
Requires employee to have the ability to push/pull up to 35 lbs.

Additional Notes
This position is responsible for performing a variety of work involving grounds and landscape maintenance of public access grounds, gardens, sports fields, and gymnasiums.
The work hours for this position are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The schedule is subject to change with district demands. Overtime is required when requested.
