MVTHS New Lifesavers

Congratulations to the seven new members of the MVTHS LifeSavers Chapter!

LifeSavers is a southern Illinois based peer support program designed to help teenagers and to help schools proactively support our student populations.  The new Rams Lifesavers are Merus Brown, Kaitlyn Delaney, Kiro (Chloe) Edwards, Emma Hall, Quincy Heck, Shaylee Hileman, and Demetrius Lenoir. They join Baylee Adams, Chloe Adams, Reagan Bullard, Zuri Das, Landrey O'Neal, Chesney Sharp, and Alex Stevens. "All of these students give a lot of themselves to this program," said Mrs. Edwards. "...but most of what LifeSavers does happens invisibly. Their primary function is to be available and visible so that other students can approach them when needed, or be referred to them by others. This is happening frequently, although most of the time you will not see it going on due to our commitment to student confidentiality and the fact that we make every effort not to interfere with classes. Every time a student asks to speak to a LifeSaver, that means that a student who needs help is reaching out and getting it. That is why LifeSavers do what they do."

Congratulations and Thank You to ALL our Rams LifeSavers!
