Mrs. Andrews named an IASA Superintendent of Distinction

The Illinois Association of School Administrators, today, announced that Mrs. Andrews is the Egyptian Region's IASA Superintendent of Distinction. The IASA presented the award at a reception earlier today.

“It is an honor to be chosen as a Superintendent of Distinction and represent the Egyptian Region,” said Andrews. "Recognition at this level happens because I have an excellent team at MVTHS who go above and beyond for our students."

This is Mrs. Andrews' fourth year as Superintendent of Mt. Vernon Township High School and her 24th as an educator. She was an English Teacher and Guidance Director at MVTHS for ten years. She then served as an Elementary School Principal at Johnston City before returning to Jefferson County as the Assistant Regional Superintendent of Schools for Regional Office of Education #13, and then returned home to MVTHS. In 2023 she was named Egyptian Region Superintendent of the Year by the IASA.

While this is her last year as Superintendent she says MVTHS will always be home. "It has truly been a privilege to lead a district that I have loved my entire life — once a Ram, always a Ram!”

Congratulations, Mrs. Andrews!
