RoboRams Team 2025

The RoboRams are headed to battle -- halfway across Missouri -- to compete in the Central Missouri Regional FIRST Robotics competition. Teams from all over the midwest will be competing.

The challenge, to date, for the students has been to research, design and build their competition robots. All of that is up to the students, and they appreciate it.

“I like that our team is student led. We have a lot of freedom to run things how we want to. Mentors allow students to fail so they can learn from trial and error!”, said senior Alex White. That sense of accomplishment through trying also builds in drive, hope and a healthy sense of practicality and fun. When asked about their chances, Freshman Noah Hewkin replied, "“I think will either be very close to victory, or we will malfunction and fail.”

The RoboRams have a history of finding themselves in the first half of that sentence, and often on top. Fans can follow their progress via a Twitch Livestream.

Robotics competitions tend to involve hours of focus and bursts of high stress activity (and competition). It helps that the team doesn't take themselves too seriously. For example, this year's challenge has an undersea theme called "Reefscape". So...
